<\/a><\/del>CHARCOAL FOR CHILDREN 2021: TELL ME TALES<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n

CHARCOAL FOR CHILDREN (CFC), a community-based creative workshop for children presented by LagiLagi in collaboration with CushCush Gallery (CCG) is finally back after a one-year break. Due to Covid-19 pandemic which prevent us from gathering and socializing at CCG like we normally do, CFC 2021 is traveling to communities in various Balinese villages instead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presenting our 4th<\/sup>\ntheme “Tell Me Tales\u201d, CFC aims to discover and share local stories from\nthe children of different villages. This year\u2019s invited artists feature one\ncollage visual artist, Irene Febry, and two multidisciplinary artists, Juli\nSastrawan and \u2018Jong\u2019 Santiasa Putra to engage with children in creative\nworkshop sessions that are based on story writing \u2014 from rolling an illustrated dice to inspire the\nchildren making their own short stories, drawing their own characters with\nLagiLagi DIY charcoal, to scavenging for materials in their surroundings to\nmake art collages.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following health protocols, a\nseries of 6 workshops is being held in the period of March – July 2021, in 6\nvillages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Penglipuran village, Bangli<\/li>
  • Serangan<\/li>
  • Candi Kusuma village, Jembrana<\/li>
  • Bayung Gede village, Kintamani<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    CFC aims to strengthen the spirit of\ncreativity and collaboration of local communities while still supporting art, design\nand issues on sustainability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After completing all the workshops,\nCFC and the invited artists will take inspiration from the stories and collages\ncreated by the children to write an illustrated children\u2019s story book, to be\npublished next year (2022). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
