ABOUT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

IN THE WAKE OF LIGHT presents portraits taken from diverse points in life, with time and geographical sphere as its tangible limits. As we grow and change over time, fragments of the past linger subtly through archives and the curiosity to seek what\u2019s hidden in the past. Through our attempts of reliving those moments, light leads us toward what remains: faces, bodies, places, stories, and memories, each altered by the distance of time. Curated by Yoppy Pieter, this selection of photographs are placed altogether to evoke meaningful and reflective conversations around the practice of archiving, re-interpretations and various methods of re-living culture and seeking wisdom from all corners of life. Through the eyes of Gabriel Barreto Bentin and Gung Ama Gama, CushCush Gallery in collaboration with Peruvian Embassy presents a space for cross continent, cross period of time, and cross historical contexts for story-telling, presenting the fragments of the remaining light and memories to seek what we may never fully known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An interactive and hands-on photography workshop with Bali’s renowned photographer artist Gung Ama Gama! Learn processes and techniques, and let\u2019s see what photography can be as an expression of yourself. Grab your treasured items and\/ or beloved ones to capture them through the olden times\u2019 ways, using the Afghan camera box! The participants will also pose and have their portraits taken by Gung Ama Gama. The workshop will be held in 2 sessions and in a limited slot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
