ABOUT
In 2019, DenPasar Art+Design takes on the theme: InTransition. This time, DenPasar Art+Design 2019: InTransition is inviting curators and writers from within and outside of Bali to conduct residencies and explore the art+design ecosystem formed in Bali, to re-think and re-look, and to discuss it again with the public what was felt during observations made in Bali. At the end of the residency and discussion, new ideas will be ‘seeds’ of possibilities, which will be examined more closely together for the roadmap of future DenPasar Art+Design program for the next few years.
In addition to hosting residencies for curators and writers, DenPasar Art+Design 2019: InTransition is also calling for creative communities in DenPasar and Bali to simultaneously host creative events during the period of October – December 2019 in various places of art, design and creativity in a movement to put DenPasar and Bali in the creative mapping of art+design in the region. These events are listed and shared in Bali Art+Design Guide X Bali Arts Road, a publication that signifies the collaboration between CushCush Gallery (CCG) and Bali Arts Road (BAR). Printed in 1500 copies and distributed to strategic places throughout Bali, the guide facilitates public participation during the same period as Art Bali and DenPasar Art+Design.
Together with other significant events: Minikino Film Festival, Art Bali, Seminyak Design Week, Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, DenPasar Art+Design invites various art and creative stakeholders to work together, sharing creativity and space to contribute to Bali’s creative growth.

BALI ART+DESIGN GUIDE X BALI ARTS ROAD
In recent times, the art and creative ecosystem in Bali continues to develop and reinvent themselves. More artists and creative people are presenting activities that are accessible to everyone. CushCush Gallery and Bali Arts Road collaborate to present the Bali Art+Design Guide X Bali Arts Road as a printed publication that is able to help artists and creative people in publicizing their activities and existence, and inviting public to participate in art and creative activities in Bali.
This inaugural 2019 edition of Bali Art+Design Guide X Bali Arts Road will be launched at the opening of ART BALI, and distributed to more than 70 points throughout Bali. The guidebook is the continuation of DenPasar Art+Design Map that was first launched in 2017 in conjunction with DenPasar2017 Art+Design. In addition to mapping the points of art and creativity, this guidebook contains various activities, including exhibitions, performances, film screenings, discussions, workshops, tours, studio visits and festivals that can be visited during October – December 2019 in various regions in Bali.
