SYNOPSIS
In every corner of Bali, there are many mundane and magical things to explore.
In one village, a diligent chicken works hard every day, while in another, magic dragons fly. A scorpion who loves to share receives kindness for the first time, and villagers investigate how to defeat a frown virus. Twelve enchanting stories, with everything from a mysterious old man, unlikely friendships, and a fantastic spinning top performance.
The Tell Me Tales anthology highlights values and experiences that are unique to the environment around each village, and shares moral values and themes of life and nature to its readers.
This collection of children stories is the output of collaboration between CushCush Gallery and LagiLagi, six villages in Bali, and three artists: Juli Sastrawan, Jong Santiasa Putra and Irene Febry. Over two years, workshops with children from 6 villages: Marga Ole, Batuan, Penglipuran, Serangan, Candikusuma, and Bayung Gede were carried out to explore local stories in Bali.
